John Howl
Honorary Research Fellow, School of Biosciences, University of Birmingham, U.K. My current research efforts are focussed upon the development and applications of bioportides as a novel class of bioactive cell penetrating peptide (CPP). A variety of strategies have been employed to identify bioportide sequences that efficiently enter cells to potently and selectively modulate the activities of intracellular protein targets. A long-term objective is to further develop cell-, organelle- and protein-targeting bioportides for applications in cancer, human reproductive physiology and Parkinson’s disease.
