Ralph A Bradshaw
He obtained his PhD (Biochemistry) in 1966 from Duke University and was a post doctoral fellow at Indiana University (Chemistry) and University of Washington, Seattle (Biochemistry) from 1967 to1969. He was a member of the Washington University (St. Louis), School of Medicine faculty from 1969 to 1982 and served as Chair of the Dept of Biological Chemistry at University of California Irvine from 1982 to 1993.
He has held office in a number of learned societies including President of FASEB (1995-96), Founding President of the Protein Society, Treasurer of the ASBMB and of the Keystone Symposia for Molecular and Cellular Biology.and Chair of the US National Committee for Biochemistry.
He was the founding editor of the journal Molecular and Cellular Proteomics and is currently the Co-Editor. He has earned a number of honors and awards such as the Passano Young Investigator Award (1976) and the Australia Society of Medical Research Gold Medal. He recently received the IPF Golden Globe Award and the HUPO Distinguished service award for his contributions to the development of the field of proteomics.
He has edited 17 books, and authored 334 articles and reviews, 177 abstracts and 35 commentaries, editorials and opinion pieces in international and national journals.
